Sheikh Gwalli urges association of Zamfara indigenes in Kaduna to initiate more ways of supporting members.

The Association Zamfara State indigenes residing in Kaduna has been urged not to relent in initiating more ways of supporting their members perticulerly the most needy.

An Islamic Scholar based in Kaduna State, Sheikh Usman Mohammed Maimota Gwalli made the call while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna.

Sheikh Usman Maimota Gwalli who is the indigene of Gumi Local government area of Zamfara State, said the call had became necessary with a view to draw the attention of other wealthy individuals from the state to be supporting the association for it overall development.

The Islamic Scholar emphasized the need for the leadership of the Association to always consider the welfare of their members and  development of Zamfara state as top priority during their meetings.

Sheikh Usman Mohammed Maimota Gwalli commended the leadership of the association for their role in bringing development and unity among it members.

He applauded the association for supporting their members with small scale businesses recently with Cash to boost their business

The parents of Zamfara State students, studying at Cyprus University enters mediation with the state government and the university to ensure studies of their children continues.

The parent's Association of Zamfara State abandoned 88 students, studying at Cyprus International University has
entered into mediation and consultation between the University and Zamfara State government to resolve all the bottlenecks that prevented the continuation of their children education in the university.

The Chairman of the parents Association, Ambassador Ibrahim Tudu announced this at a news briefing in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.

Ambassador Tudu explained that, the intervention would help the students to
continue, finish thier studies and come back home.  

He called on all concern persons to desist from further unsubstantiated remarks and politicization of the students issues since they had meet with the state Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal on the issue.

Ambassador Ibrahim Tudu pointed out that, the purpose of the mews briefing was to send a direct message of commendation to Zamfara State Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal for listening to them as the parents and guardians of the children.

According to him, during their meeting with the Governor, they discuss all issues raised with a view to remedy them.

He also expressed gratitude to Zamfara State Ulama Consultative Council led by Sheik Ahmad Umar Kanoma for their timely intervention based on their request by successfully facilitating the meeting with the state Government.

The Chairman of the association further acknowledge the role played by other individuals and personalities that showed concern on the plight of the children.

Insecurity: Zamfara govt commends Airforce, Commiserates with Civilian casualties.

Governor Dauda Lawal has commended the Nigerian military's efforts in the renewed onslaught against bandits in Zamfara State.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in a successful airstrike over the weekend, decisively targeted bandits attacking villages in Zurmi and Maradun Local Government Areas.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Zamfara State Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, expressed deep condolences to the families of civilian casualties affected by the airstrike at Tungar Kara in Zurmi local government.
The statement clarified that, the civilian casualties were members of the local vigilante who were mistakenly identified as the bandits fleeing from Gidan Makera in the Boko district of Zurmi Local government.

“We have received multiple positive reports of precision strikes carried out by the Air Component of Operation Fansar Yamma over the weekend in troubled Maradun and Zurmi local government areas.
According to the statement, the intervention by the military has significantly degraded the operational capacity of the bandits and has shown the commitment of the Nigeria Air Force to carrying out its constitutional mandate of protecting civilians and safeguarding the lives and property of the people.

It assured all the people of the State that the Government of Zamfara State remains steadfast in its resolve to sustain the gains made in the fight against banditry and related criminalities.
The statement maintains that, the recent success indicates that the collaborative efforts between the state and federal security agencies yield positive results.

“In light of these achievements, the state government reaffirms its commitment to providing all necessary support to the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to sustain their operations and bring lasting peace to the state. 

"We will continue to offer support to enhance intelligence sharing, provide logistics, and strengthen community engagement, all in the spirit of a comprehensive approach to security and achieving the ultimate goal of restoring normalcy across all parts of the state.

“Regrettably, some members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) and local vigilantes were also affected during the operation in Tungar Kara, resulting in the loss of lives. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant them Jannah.
“The state government extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen JTF personnel and assures them that the sacrifices of the deceased will not go in vain. The government will provide necessary support and assistance to the bereaved families.

The state government calls on people to be vigilant, report all suspicious activities, and cooperate fully with security personnel. Through collective effort and unity of purpose, the fight against banditry can be won, bringing enduring peace and stability to Zamfara State.”



Zamfara APC mourns the death of innocent people over Airstrike mishap, applauds ongoing fight against bandits.

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC under the Chairmanship of Tukur Umar Danfulani has extend heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the state especially the people of Tungar Kara under kakindawa village of Gidan Goga District area of Maradun local government area over the unfortunate accidental airstrike on Saturday that led to the death of innocent people including some personnnel of the state's Community Protection Guard and Vigilantes.

The APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State  Yusuf Idris Gusau stated this in a statement says "As we mourn the gallant sacrifice of our citizens who paid the supreme price while chasing bandits who have made life unbearable to the people, we pray Allah to accept their martyrdom and accommodate them in Jannaatu Firdausi and give their bereaved families, the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The Party also commends the ongoing onslaught against the bandits in the state that saw the elimination of many criminals in the state.

According to the statement, the just recent operations carried out by the troops of operation Fasan Yamma led to the killing of over 25 terrorists at their hideouts under the control of notorious bandits kingpin Bello Turji in Fakai where all the enclaves were dismantled and the bandit kingpin is now believed to be on run and hiding.

It says the change of operation is quite impressive as the troops of Fasan Yamma are taking the fights now to the bandits' hideouts making them abandon such hideouts.

This operational strategy should be sustained and supported by all peace loving citizens across the country to ginger the frontline personnel, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle under whose supervision the onslaught is being coordinated and carried out. 

The party also commends the show of concern by President Bola Ahmed with a view to end banditry in the state and the northwest region through the Minister by ensuring that no stone is left unturned in the fight 

We also wish to call on the authorities concerned to thoroughly investigate the unfortunate accidental airstrike with a view of preventing a recurrence.

Governor Lawal meets Livestock Development Minister, says Zamfara ready for ranching.

Governor Dauda Lawal has assured the Ministry of Livestock Development that Zamfara state has available spaces and is ready for ranching.

In a statement by the governor's spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, says the governor Stated this when he visited the Headquarters of the Livestock Ministry on a courtesy visit to the Minister, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha in Abuja.

Governor Lawal revealed that, Zamfara, being an agrarian state can played a significant role in the mandate of the Ministry of Livestock Development.
He expressed his administration’s willingness to collaborate with the Ministry in exploring Zamfara State's full potential.

“Honourable Minister, as you know, Zamfara is an agrarian society. That is why our motto is, ‘Farming is our pride.’

“We are here today to congratulate you on the establishment of this new ministry, which I believe is timely. Additionally, we aim to foster a strong collaboration between our state and the ministry.

“In Zamfara, several earth dams across the state need rehabilitation to provide for animals, and there may also be opportunities to accommodate any expanded initiatives.

“We invite the Honorable Minister and his team to visit Zamfara to assess the situation on the ground.”

Responding, the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, thanked Governor Lawal for visiting the ministry, stressing that, Since the ministry was established, it received a visit from an executive governor who feels the need to hear what they have to offer.

Alhaji Idi Maiha assured the Ministry readiness to collaborate with Zamfara State government to transform and address it concerns in the livestock sector in the state.

According to him, the livestock sector has long operated informally and will modernize the sector through various strategic programs.

“Your Excellency, Zamfara State will be the pilot state to showcase the agenda of the new ministry. With this collaboration, we will turn the Gidan jaji in Zamfara into a mini agricultural hub.” He said.

The Livestock Ministry was created in July 2024 to reform Nigeria’s livestock industry, create a safe environment, encourage local and foreign investment, and enhance food security.
