The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a report circulating on an online platform alleging that some aggrieved members from Shinkafi Local Government Area have taken the party to court over an unconstitutional sanction.
In a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris Gusau, described the report as false, baseless, and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the party.
According to the publication, individuals identified as Babangida Aliyu Shinkafi, Kabiru Ibrahim, and Ibrahim D. Kurya allegedly filed a suit—No. ZMS/GS/65/2025 seeking judicial intervention to stop a sanction purportedly imposed on them.
Idris Gusau who refuted the claims, insisting that, the party was not aware of any disciplinary action or suspension involving the said members, nor has it received any court order relating to such a matter.
He added that, there was no such sanction, stressing that, the individuals mentioned may be nursing fears of possible disciplinary measures due to their alleged anti-party activities and perceived alliance with the ruling PDP in the state.
“The APC constitution clearly outlines sanctions for anyone found engaging in anti-party activities. If they are found wanting, the appropriate disciplinary process will be applied,” he stated.
The party challenged the individuals to produce any official communication signed by the APC Chairman or Secretary in Shinkafi, indicating they were sanctioned.
It also disclosed that, no service or notification has been received from the State High Court regarding the alleged court case.
Gusau described the report as a ploy to stir unnecessary controversy, distract party members, and cover up the individuals’ political romance with the PDP, which he alleged was motivated by financial inducement.
“Their fear is that the APC is becoming more united and formidable, and the contract they are being paid to execute will not succeed,” he added.
The party has directed the APC leadership in Shinkafi to set up a committee to investigate the matter and report back to the state headquarters immediately.
