The All Progressives Congress (APC), under the auspices of the Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front in Zamfara State, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The founder of the group and the APC chieftain in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi announced this during a stakeholders’ meeting of the front held in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
According to Shinkafi, the endorsement followed a motion moved by Yushau Mada, coordinator of the Front and seconded by the women leader, Asma’u Gusau.
Dr. Abdullahi Shinkafi noted that, Nigeria under President Tinubu, is witnessing transformation, growth, and development and reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party and pledged to contribute to the success of the APC at all levels.
He said the APC in Zamfara remained one and united and cautioned members against engaging in anti-party activities before and during elections.
Dr Shinkafi commended the resilience of Senator Abdul’azeez Yari Abubakar, representing Zamfara West Senatorial Zone, for his efforts in keeping the party strong and vibrant.
Dr. Abdullahi Shinkafi also declared his intention to contest the Zamfara State Governorship election in 2027 under the APC platform, stressing that, internal democracy must prevail.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of democracy and good governance, noting that President Tinubu’s leadership has brought significant progress and reforms across various sectors.
He pledged full support for the APC leadership at both the national and state levels under Tukur Danfulani, assuring continued cooperation and harmony among members.
The endorsement of President Tinubu as the APC’s consensus candidate by the Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front comes barely ten days after the Zamfara State chapter of the party made a similar declaration.
Members of the Wamban Shinkafi Democratic were drawn from the fourteen local government areas of the state.
