Zamfara APC Demands Arrest of PDP Women Leader Over alleged Election Threats, voters intimidation.

The All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Zamfara state, has urged security agencies to immediately arrest the state PDP women leader Hajiya Rabi Madawaki over her violent threats against voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by the APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, and made available to journalists in Gusau said APC as a strong opposition party in the state will not be intimidated by any threats from the Zamfara PDP.

Malam Idris Yusuf Gusau called on security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), to immediately arrest and prosecute Hajiya Madawaki, insisting that her comments constitute a criminal threat and incitement to violence.

The party argued that, she does not enjoy any form of constitutional immunity and should therefore be treated like any ordinary citizen who makes such dangerous and inflammatory remarks.

Malam Yusuf Gusau said the party in Zamfara State has strongly condemned what it described as inciting and threatening remarks allegedly made by the PDP Women Leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, during a political gathering held in Gusau on Friday, May 16, 2025.

According to the APC, Hajiya Madawaki, speaking in the Hausa language and in the presence of Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda, warned that anyone who fails to vote for Governor Dauda Lawal in the forthcoming 2027 elections would be physically assaulted.

The APC claimed the statement, translated loosely as “We will beat, maim, anyone who does not vote for Dauda” (“zamu ci ubanshi zamu yi mashi duka”), was repeated multiple times to drive home the threat"

He said Such type of utterance was not only irresponsible but poses a grave threat to the peace and democratic process of the state.

“If such threats could come from someone without any constitutional authority, it begs the question of what plans the state government itself may be harboring."

The party reiterated its earlier accusations that the PDP-led administration has failed to adequately respond to the worsening insecurity in the state, including ongoing banditry, and accused Governor Dauda Lawal of ignoring the plight of victims of violence.

It says despite these concerns, the APC affirmed its resolve not to be intimidated and vowed to continue mobilizing Zamfara residents ahead of the 2027 elections
