G15 Empowers Over 40,000 Vulnerable Women Across Zamfara, Pledges More Support for Youth.

A grassroots organization, G15, has successfully completed its first phase of empowerment outreach, positively impacting the lives of over 40,000 vulnerable women across Zamfara State.

The Chairman of the group, Comrade Mannir Haidara made this known while briefing journalists on their activities shortly after the distribution of Cash and clothing materials in Gusau local government.

Comrade Haidara explained that, the event mark the conclusion of the first phase of the empowerment programme, and expressed appreciation for the unwavering support of members and well-wishers.

He disclosed that in Gusau alone, they distributed over N20 million and 5,000 pieces of clothing materials to women carefully selected from the 11 wards of the local government.

“In this first round alone, we supported over 40,000 women with food items, clothing materials, and cash assistance. All these were fully sponsored by our members,”

According to Haidara, G15 was formed about ten months ago with the primary aim of supporting the people-oriented policies and developmental efforts of the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal.

“Our organization comprises representatives from each of the 13 local government areas of the state, while Gusau, the state capital, has two representatives making a total of 15 members. That is how the name G15 was derived,”

He said the group decided by themselves to complement the efforts of the state government by reaching out to vulnerable women in rural communities, especially those affected by poverty and insecurity.

“We tax ourselves to fund all our activities. Each member is solely responsible for the empowerment and support initiatives in their respective local government areas. Alhamdulillah, we have visited all 13 LGAs and today, we are concluding this round in Gusau.”

Comrade Mannir Haidara also announced plans for a second phase of the empowerment programme that will focus on empowering youth across the state through small-scale business support.

“Insha’Allah, our second round will target youth empowerment, particularly in helping them establish sustainable businesses and become self-reliant.”

He commended the members of G15 and all those who have supported the initiative so far, assuring the public of their continued commitment to grassroots development in line with Governor Dauda Lawal’s vision for a prosperous Zamfara State.
