An Islamic scholar in Kaduna State, Sheikh Usman Mohammed Gwalli, has commended the Kaduna State Government for its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony among different faiths and groups in the state.
Sheikh Gwalli made the commendation shortly after visiting the Director-General of the Kaduna State Bureau for Interfaith Tahir Umar Tahir, in his office.
Sheikh Gwalli said the courtesy call was aimed at strengthening the relationship particularly in fostering peaceful coexistence among citizens.
He explained that during the meeting, they discussed extensively with the DG on issues relating to peacebuilding, interfaith collaboration, and the overall development of the state.
The Islamic scholar expressed readiness to work closely with the Kaduna State Government and the Interfaith Bureau to contribute their quota toward promoting peace, unity, and good conduct among residents.
Sheikh Gwalli noted that the role of religious leaders in shaping the attitude and behavior of citizens cannot be overemphasized, hence the need for constant engagement between government and faith-based organizations.
He also reaffirmed the support of policies and programs of the Kaduna State Government, especially those designed to provide the dividends of democracy and ensure social cohesion.
The visit, according to him, would open a new chapter of collaboration between religious groups and government agencies working to sustain peace in the state.
