The Zamfara State Ministry of Women and Social Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has launched a weekly preaching session aimed at reinforcing moral guidance among women in line with Islamic teachings.
Speaking at the flagging-off ceremony, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Aisha M.Z. Anka, urged women across the state particularly market women, housewives, civil servants, and residents to actively participate in the weekly spiritual gatherings.
Dr. Anka noted that the initiative was conceived by women and for women, with the objective of fostering spiritual empowerment.
"We are empowering families, communities, and ultimately, the entire state. When our women are guided by the teachings of Islam, they become exemplary mothers, responsible citizens, and agents of positive change," she said.
The preaching session, themed “Submission to Allah,” is part of the state government’s commitment to strengthening spiritual values and promoting moral discipline among women, who serve as the backbone of families and communities.
In her message, the wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, applauded the Ministry’s efforts and pledged her support for the program.
"I am deeply passionate about reviving the spiritual consciousness of our women. I commend the Honourable Commissioner and her team for this timely and much-needed initiative," she said.
Hajiya Huriyya further promised to work closely with the Ministry to ensure that no woman is left behind in the journey toward Islamic enlightenment.
"Together, we will build a God-fearing generation of women and children," she added.
